For months, an army man trains. With weapons and backpacks. Without them. In deserts and in mountains. In rain, sun and snow. They do so, to be able to defeat their enemy when they are attacked and live to tell the tale of bravery, It is not by mere training that they defeat their enemy, they do so by a choice they make when they are attacked. And what they tell themselves constantly while they train.
They have a choice to Engage or Run. When they run, most of the time they are shot at and they become victims (though this is not an eventuality as Indian Army is not trained to retreat) but when they choose to Engage, they increase their chances of living.
This is the very choice we civilians face when we encounter malicious intent/action in daily life. We can either choose to run or to engage. Most of the times we run or find ways to run. And hence most of the times you become victims. So now, I can confidently say - You Choose To Be A Victim.
We face these malicious intent/actions on a daily basis. Just different degree. While getting onto a bus, you are pushed aside by one who is attacking your place on that ride. Now you might be saying its not that aggressive after all. Its just a place on the bus. Yeh Sure ! Its RED for the traffic and you begin to cross the road as its your GREEN but a cab guy wants to break that signal and almost drives onto your foot. You let him go with a few words of wisdom. Or you are at a review at your workplace and your colleague answers a critical question with an answer that you shared with him over a coffee just last eve. This could cost you your promotion.
Now out of the 3 situations - Bus, Cab & Colleague - the malicious intent of your colleague has hit you most. While it is not life threatening, it still is. You got hit by a soft toy (office politics) coz you refused to learn from the hard toys (bus/cab).
So now lets talk about Engagement with the enemy. Your enemy is everywhere. Only the degree of the enmity differs. Women have an enemy in every man. As they have not learnt the art of identifying their attacker before they become a victim.
And if you are living your life thinking you will not get effected by the constant war around you, you are in a state of hallucination. You NEED tactical life skills to get ahead in your life. A decade back there used to be 300 applicants for a single job. Today its over 3000. So if you think your employer can't find someone better than you - Hallucination.
So, cutting the long story short, YOU need Tactical Life Skills. Your Work Force needs Tactical Life Skills. Give this to yourself and your workforce and sit back to watch the magic unfold for you and your yearly targets.
A mind that is in denial, will never yield results for itself and for those who hire it.
